The Greenlandic Inuit are known as Kalaallit in Kalaallisut—the Greenlandic language. The Kalaallit cap is the original "Make America Go Away" cap, featuring a single flag on one side: the Greenlandic flag.
First distributed for free in Sisimiut, this cap was a response to JD Vance's announced visit to Greenland, standing in protest against America's ambition to assert control over the island. It was developed when Donald Trump Jr. visited Greenland (also "as a tourist") for a few hours on January 7, 2025.
While it playfully echoes Trump's slogan, the design is distinct. The red and white colors reflect the Greenlandic flag, and the typeface, DS 737, is based on the official Danish signage typeface, originally released in 1954 by Dansk Standard as ‘Danish Standard no. 737’.
